Vespertine Sweater - Digital Knitting Pattern
As a person who is primarily a night knitter, the definition of the word Vespertine really spoke to me. Vespertine describes things that flourish or come alive in the evening. I work a full day, spend my afternoons and mornings caring for my family and finally in the evening once the house is settled, get a chance to flourish creatively through knitting, designing or journaling. This sweater is inspired by cozy evening hours or porch knitting.
Vespertine is my take on a striped sweater with layered textures and an easy fit. The fit is casual with a split hem and relaxed sleeves. The textured stripes create the opportunity to play with color. The broken rib texture used for the majority of the sweater is a 3x1 ribbing with a purl detail. The two color stripes use a linen stitch to create a soft blended texture for a more subtle stripe.
Thank you so much for your support of my patterns. Please use the tag #vespertinesweater to share with me on instagram! Seeing your yarn choices and watching your progress is the greatest joy. Happy knitting!
